Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is vaping?

Vaping is the act of inhaling vapor produced by a vaporizer or electronic cigarette.

  • What is VG/PG

VG/PG is the acronym for two of the ingredients of e-liquids. VG stands for vegetable glycerine and PG stands for propylene glycol. The acronym is used to show what concentration of each ingredient is found in the e-liquid. For example, if you see VG/PG 80/20, means that that particular liquid is made of 80% VG and 20% PG.

  • How do I change my coil & how long do they last?

On average, coils should last around a week. Since they are mass produced items, it is common to have the odd one that won’t last as long, as many things influence the efficiency of the coil. Each different manufacturer has a different way of accessing and changing the coils but the vast majority is done by unscrewing the bottom section of the tank.

  • What is vapors tongue?

Vapors tongue happens when you vape the same flavour of juice for too long. Your taste buds stop registering the flavour and you start tasting burned or nothing at all. Usually this is fixed by just changing the flavour you vape or vaping menthol based liquids.

  • What is TPD?

TPD is the new set of regulations enforced by the UK and European governments for the production and trade of electronic cigarette kits, hardware and liquids. The regulations became valid in May 2017 and some of the changes include the controlling of bottle and tank volume as well as the amount of nicotine allowed in e-liquids.

  • Is vaping healthier than smoking? Can anyone vape?

While vaping can be, according to scientific research, over 97% safer for your health than smoking cigarettes, at Paradox Vaping we wouldn’t recommend anyone who does not smoke or managed to stop smoking without aid, to take on vaping. The only purpose of vaping is to help with smoke cessation, be it to cut down the amount of cigarettes smoked per day or to stop smoking cigarettes completely. Although there are no scientific reports of vaping or second hand vaping to be harmful, if you don’t smoke, there is no reason for you to vape.

  • What are shortfills and nic shots?

Shortfills are e-liquids bottles that have less liquid than its capacity. For example, a 60ml bottle filled with 50ml juice. They are made this way to leave space for the vaper to add their own nic shot, which is a 10ml bottle of unflavoured e-liquid with high nicotine concentration, designed to be mixed with the flavoured e-liquid in the shortfill bottles.
